As an experienced business consultant, Katherine possesses a breadth of knowledge across several industries. By thoroughly understanding how business works, she is able to apply technology that enhances and improves the efficiency of the marketing and public relations process. In addition, Katherine possesses the unique skill of strategic and diverse thinking that is a fresh and innovative addition to marketing and promoting business.
Katherine has experience as a Social Media, Community Manager and Writer for a multinational brand whose goal is promoting family mealtime. Her responsibilities included cultivating relationships with “Key Influencers” as well as creating content strategy, editing, publishing, and curating the project’s entire digital eco-system. She is currently working at Lowe Campbell Ewald as a Digital Content Strategist on a project for the world’s largest manufacturer of fiberglass and building related products.
Katherine has a Masters degree in Information Management and Communications from Walsh College of Business Administration and Accountancy and a Humanities degree in Arts and Letters from Marygrove College, graduating from both with honors. She also completed postgraduate study in Information Assurance and Security at Walsh College in Troy, a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.
As part of the “Baby Boomer” generation, Katherine loves to help her fellow “Boomers” and also Senior Citizens, navigate their way through social media. On Facebook, she helps them post photos of their grandchildren, find school friends, promote their favorite causes and hobbies. For several years, Katherine volunteered by teaching Seniors how to navigate the social web at the City of Troy Community Center’s 50+ Computer Lab.
In a previous career, Katherine was a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and Database Manager for several Oakland County Michigan Real Estate management corporations. She sold millions of dollars in Real Estate and managed the data of many retail and office properties.
In an additional “past life”, Katherine was a professional actress, singer and dancer having performed with Dance Detroit and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in The Nutcracker, in Detroit’s Attic Theater, local Detroit dinner theaters and in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry’s, Opryland. This artistic experience and her marketing skills contribute to her interest in promoting artists and helping them to increase their fan base through social media. Katherine also manages the online presence of her son, actor Rahbi Hammond aka Robert Joshua Hammond.
Katherine is married to John Hammond; the proud mother of Rahbi and Jason and is “Yiayia” to Maxwell and Benjamin. A self-professed Foodie, Katherine blogs at Kitoula’s Greek Food Journal. She has written articles for Examiner.com as a Detroit Food Examiner, as a “Detroit Foodie” for The Urbane Life and is a content contributor for Street Eatzz.
